Helping The Community
American Samaritan’s Community Support Program is a vital initiative aimed at providing free furniture and household items to those in need. The program operates with the understanding that life can be challenging, and we have the ability to help make things easier for people who are struggling. American Samaritan is committed to being a source of support and comfort for individuals and families who are in need of assistance.
The program works by providing free furniture and household items, including sofas, chairs, tables bedroom furniture, lamps, and much more. All of these items are delivered for free and moved into the recipient’s home, making it easier for those who are struggling to access the support they need.
The Community Support Program is run by our program director, Abbey Dorhorst who is passionate about making a difference in the community. The program operates through partnerships with local public assistance programs that help people with housing assistance in the Denver metro area.
One of the other goals of the Community Support Program is to help reduce waste and promote sustainability. Most of the items that are donated are still in good condition and can be reused, reducing the amount of waste that goes to landfills. American Samaritan has kept thousands of pieces of furniture out of our local landfills and at the same time enriching people’s lives by helping them make a house into a home.

Provides Sense of Community
The Community Support Program also provides a sense of community for those who participate. The program offers an opportunity for individuals and families in the Denver community to come together and support one another in a time of need. It is a way that people can come together, form new relationships, and provide support to those who are struggling.

Application Requirements
American Samaritan’s Community Support Program (CSP) is open to anyone currently under the care or supervision of a certified case worker from a recognized public assistance program for the purpose of housing assistance. Once your application has been submitted and we have verified your information, we will follow up with you via email to provide additional information to get you set up for delivery through our program.
