Lifting up Those who Served

Vehicles for Veterans is an intiative that is dear to us at American Samaritan. Veterans have sacrificed so much in defense of our freedoms. The toll of being a soldier is known only by those who have endured it. From missing family back home to grueling training to the possibility of making the ultimate sacrifice, Veterans go through so much that those of us who haven’t served will never understand.

Readjusting to life after they serve, Veterans often find themselves in an odd predicament. While they are not starting life over necessarily, they typically are without some privileges we take for granted. None is more impactful than the need for transportation.

Whether a vet has elected to pursue their education or go immediately into the job market, access to a car can play a major role in the opportunities our Veterans can pursue once out of the service. Put yourself in their shoes for a moment. They have spent the last few years based far from home, fully immersed in their mission. There is no apartment to cruise to after their work day, there’s no need for a car to cruise in. And now they’re home and in need of these very trappings.

  • Vehicles for Veterans is our way of thanking these brave men and women for their service to our country.
  • We accept cars, trucks, and SUVs in good working condition, auction them, and then donate proceeds to the Children of Fallen Veterans.

In the distant future, people may outlaw driving cars because it’s too dangerous. You can’t have a person driving a two-ton death machine.

Road Ready Vehicles for Veterans

While some wear & tear is to be expected we cannot accept vehicles that have major body issues or are in need of extensive repair. As you can imagine, there is a big difference between a simple oil change and the need for a new transmission. The more road ready your donation, the sooner we are able to show our appreciation to our veterans.

No Small Ask

We know this may seem like a huge ask but we really can’t stress enough how important reliable transportation is to the lives of service members after they leave active duty. These folks have sacrificed so much for us and we want to do everything we can to make sure that they are set up for success once they get back home. We understand that typically people rely on the resale value of their vehicles when they are ready to make a change but we implore to consider this route instead.
