Would you like a baby grand piano but need it to be a little smaller than your standard 5ft models?
Gorgeous 1940s art deco styling is truly beautiful and definitely a conversation piece.
MADE IN USA 🇺🇸
This Story & Clark Petite Baby Grand is just what you’re looking for. At 53″ it is considered a Petite Baby Grand as your standard Baby Grand Piano is usually 60″
This particular one was manufactured in 1941. It is in good condition for its age. All keys and pedals work and it plays and sounds nice. It even has the original ivory keys. The finish has scratches and blemishes but only enough to add character without excessive damage. In my opinion it gives it a really great vintage patina. Mechanically it is in good shape as well. It has some cracks in the soundboard, but it doesn’t effect the tone and this isn’t uncommon at all for antique pianos. However it would most likely prevent it from being a concert quality instrument in some people’s eyes. This is an antique piano in mostly all original condition. It is been fully cleaned and inspected and should provide reliable service for many years to come. But as with antique instruments they’re not likely to be considered concert quality without being rebuilt.
This would be perfect as a fun artistic Conversation Piece or for in-home lessons for children or most any other in home use.
A portion of the sale of this piano goes to support the Pianos to the People Scholarship Program which provides a free piano along with in home lessons to underprivileged children on Colorado’s front range communities. For more info on P2P scholarships please visit our website.
The Story & Clark Piano & Organ Company is one of the most popular piano manufacturers in America. Hampton L. Story opened his first music store in Burlington, Vermont in 1859. The firm was known for building exceptionally well made instruments and enjoyed great success.
In 1895 the firm began manufacturing pianos as “The Story & Clark Piano Company”. Like their organs, the pianos that were designed and built under the supervision of Melville Clark were considered to be superior instruments in quality and tone. Story & Clark is one of the few American piano manufacturers to survive both The Great Depression and World War II without being absorbed into a larger conglomerat. Story & Clarkwas purchase by QRS Music, Inc., in 1993. QRS Music is still producing pianos under the Story & Clark brand name today.
Like all pianos you’ll want to get it tuned after its moved but it sounds and plays well as is. I can recommend a great piano tuner if you don’t know anyone. Really nice guy and doesn’t over charge.
I can also recommend a great teacher of you’re looking for someone to give your child lessons. My daughter’s teacher is great and I’m happy to refer her to you.
